From what was the smallest bean of an idea comes an actual novel!
I had the idea for this story over a year ago, even wrote it and let it percolate like cannonball coffee for months. Now, the time has come to spill those beans and let them fall where they may.
THE DARKEST CORNERS is a change of genre for me. Readers, you'll still be treated to the usual character development, as Maxwell Grant and Harriet Harper embark upon their voyage of self-discovery. Add to that lots of twists and turns, a healthy helping of angst, soul searching, sexy encounters and the odd confession thrown in for good measure and you have one hell of a story!!
Who you decide to trust and believe is up to you!
Lots of readers are calling THE DARKEST CORNERS one of their, "Favourite reads of 2018!"
The central character, Maxwell Grant was an accomplished artist; he exhibited and sold his work and became quite famous and wealthy. Along the way, he lost track of what mattered most to him, his pregnant wife, Hope. and in a moment of madness, he did something terrible.
Concealing a secret he dare not even admit to himself, he is guilt-ridden, believing himself unworthy of happiness. He’s reclusive, a bad teacher, a neglectful father, until—that is—a victim of domestic violence, mature student Harriet Jane Harper joins his weekly night class.
When a dangerous character from Harriet’s past appears, events take a turn for the worse and Max must say and do whatever necessary to save his sanity and, more importantly, his four year old daughter, Poppy.
Some secrets never get to see the light of day; others are just waiting to be uncovered … with shocking consequences. It's those who survive the excavation who live to tell the tale...
I hope you love this book as much as I do!
